36 months/22,500 miles

60 months/37,500 miles

Schedule 1

Unless you drive your CX-3 under severe driving conditions, you can follow the intervals outlined in Schedule 1. This is the standard recommendation for most area drivers and requires maintenance on a yearly basis or every 7,500 miles-whichever comes first.

Every 12 months/7,500 miles: If your Engine Oil Flexible Maintenance system hasn't yet required an oil change, now is the time to replace your engine oil and filter. Additionally, you should:

  • Inspect the emergency flat tire repair kit, if installed
  • Inspect disc brakes
  • Rotate tires

Every 24 months/15,000 miles: This is the most involved interval. First, you should tighten all nuts and bolts throughout the body of your Mazda CX-3 and replace the cabin air filter. Plus, inspect the following:

  • Fuel lines, brake lines, and associated hoses and connections
  • Steering operation and linkages
  • Front and rear suspension, ball joints, and wheel bearing axial play
  • Driveshaft dust boots

Every 36 months/22,500 miles: At this interval, replace the air filter and inspect drive belts.

Every 48 months/30,000 miles: Inspect hoses and tubes for emission.

Every 60 months/37,500 miles: Inspect the exhaust system and heat shields.

Schedule 2

If you drive your Mazda CX-3 under severe driving conditions, it'll require maintenance on a more frequent basis. Follow Schedule 2 if any of the following apply to your vehicle:

  • Frequent short-distance driving with extended idling
  • Driving in areas with excess mud, dust, salt, or corrosive materials
  • Driving in extremely hot conditions, humid climates, or cold temperatures
  • Continual driving up and down mountains or with extended brake usage

This schedule recommends maintenance every six months or 5,000 miles-whichever comes first.

Every 6 months/5,000 miles: Twice a year, you should do a quick once-over of various components in your Mazda CX-3. If your vehicle is following Engine Oil Fixed Maintenance recommendations, replace the engine oil and filter. Additionally, you should lubricate all locks and hinges and rotate your tires. Inspect the following:

  • Washer fluid, engine coolant, brake fluid, and clutch fluid levels
  • Function of all lights, including headlights, turn signals, and brake lights
  • Tire pressure and wear
  • Disc brakes

Every 12 months/10,000 miles: If you haven't already, now's the time to replace your engine oil and filter. You should also inspect your emergency flat tire repair kit, if installed.

Every 18 months/15,000 miles: Tighten all nuts and bolts across the chassis and body of your Mazda and inspect the following:

  • Fuel lines, brake lines, and associated hoses and connections
  • Steering operation and linkages
  • Front and rear suspension, ball joint, and wheel bearing axial play
  • Driveshaft dust boot

Every 24 months/20,000 miles: Inspect all drive belts and replace your cabin air filter.

Every 36 months/30,000 miles: Inspect hoses and tubes for emission and replace your vehicle's air filter.

Every 42 months/35,000 miles: Inspect the exhaust system and heat shields.

Recommended Maintenance for High-Mileage Mazda CX-3 Models

As your Mazda CX-3 reaches higher mileage, continue to follow the intervals mentioned above based on your driving conditions. Additionally, there are a few extra services your vehicle requires as it gets older, regardless of driving conditions:

  • Every 75,000 miles, replace your spark plugs.
  • At 120,000 miles or 10 years, replace your engine coolant. Then, replace it again every 60,000 miles or five years afterward.
  • Replace your rear differential oil and transfer oil if they ever become submerged in water.
